April 25th 2015 marked the centenary of the first day of the Gallipoli Landings and the Battle of St Julien (2nd Battle of Ypres).  Battalions recruited in Berwick and the surrounding area played significant roles in each of these actions.

Berwick’s contribution to the First World War, at home and abroad, was commemorated by a programme of talks, interactive workshops for schools, performances and re-enactments and an exhibition illustrating the actions of local men in the campaigns of 1915 and life for civilians on the home front in Berwick.
