An innovative open air version of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, first published in 1603, was staged in Berwick Barracks, by kind permission of English Heritage.
The event began with a colourful procession through the town and round the Elizabethan Walls.
Costumes, banners and musical instruments used in the production were made from recycled materials - hence the title “A Trash Opera”.
More than 90 performers of all ages and abilities from both sides of the Border took part n a performance that blended Shakespeare’s drama with contemporary interpretation, dance and music.
The event was produced by The Maltings Theatre, directed by Celia Frisby.
